Eclipse was formed by David and Jeanette Blyth in September 1999. David and Jeanette have a vision to provide counselling and support for anybody who has a genuine desire to achieve a complete recovery from alcoholism or drug abuse and to live a life free from the grip of addiction.
David and Jeanette have been involved in counselling since 1991 and have been trained to an advanced level in general counselling. They developed specific skills and expertise in the area of addiction counselling and in 1993 David attended Ruskin College Oxford and obtained a diploma in the misuse of drugs and alcohol, and related HIV issues.
Eclipse initially worked in partnership with Manna House Counselling Service based in Northampton and moved into premises at 66 High Street, Newport Pagnell. Eclipse quickly commenced work and was soon conducting 75 counselling sessions each month.
In 2000 Eclipse became part of Into The Community a registered charity promoting social programmes in the Milton Keynes area. In July 2005 they found modern three-story premises in Newport Pagnell that offered ideal counselling facilities for Eclipse. In September 2005 Eclipse became a registered charity in its own right and once again formed a partnership with Manna House. In February 2006 Eclipse moved into its new premises at 1 Bassett Court, Newport Pagnell and an exciting and challenging new stage in the growth of Eclipse Counselling Service began.
