June 2018

It is with regret that the Trustees of Eclipse Counselling Service, based in Newport Pagnell, have to announce that the service will cease to operate with effect from 30th June 2018.

Eclipse has operated through self-funding for just under 20 years serving the people of Milton Keynes and surrounding areas.  From small beginnings in the early days when few knew of us, Eclipse has grown to be a well loved and respected service in the community and, without doubt, its closure will leave a massive hole with Milton Keynes being so under-resourced in the area of help and support for those struggling with an addiction. Eclipse, whilst appreciated by many, has found funding a real issue. Recently several significant applications to agencies in the area have been turned down which have left the Trustees with no option but to close.

David Blyth, Eclipse’s founder Director, and his family will be moving to Derbyshire to follow up opportunities for developing the Parent and Family work, which has been running locally over a number of years.   This work has proved incredibly beneficial to family members, particularly parents, who have a loved one with an addiction strengthening and empowering them to meet the difficult and emotional challenges that addictions bring.     We are delighted that not only will this vital work continue in Milton Keynes but that it is now to be established in other areas of the country.

If you want further clarity on our closure or to find out more about the ongoing Parent/Family work please do not hesitate to be in touch by contacting the Eclipse Office on 01908 211296 or email info@askrhema.com

We thank all who have supported and shown interest in Eclipse over the years the service has operated.
